A robot who dances, listens to the kids and plays with them, an avatar communicating with the sign language, a baloon which teaches maths, a virtual dance teacher and a pc that answers pressing questions of modern sociology. Can machines communicate with humans? Visitors of ASF2017 will find plenty of technology, games and dance in the interactive exhibition of Athena RC, will have the opportunity to attend workshops, labs and live experiments.
For one more year, the science of informatics goes up the stage of Athens Science Festival and researchers of Athena RC will share their research results with all of us, will to show us where science exists in our daily lives and how learning science can be combined with entertainment, music and games.
Literature, Math, Physics, Biology? Or Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Programming, Genetics? We are not so far away from the time that these will be a part of our basic education. It is not the first time we hear about them, however, the modern trend quickly turns into a part of our daily life and our way of living.
Equipped with knowledge and open access to innovative tools we can now invent new technologies, manufacture fantastic creations and take science into our own hands “Shaping our future”! With this motto, the celebration of Science and Innovation, the Athens Science Festival, returns once again in Technopolis City of Athens from 29 March to 2 April, inviting and challenging us to dive into the technology of the future: drones, internet of things, virtual reality and robotic cars, amongst many others. Don’t just stare, be part of the change!
During the Athens Science Festival, our young, as well as adult, audiences will have the opportunity to attend exhibitions, screenings and thought-provoking lectures and debates by renowned Greek and foreign scientists and to take part in workshops, various educational activities and educational games.
The Athens Science Festival is jointly organised by the educational organisation “Science Communication – SciCo”, the British Council, the Technopolis City of Athens Industrial Gas Museum, the Onassis Scholars’ Association and the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, in collaboration with a variety of academic, research and educational institutions.
